For decades, the Indian box office was ruled & led by the Hindi film industry or Bollywood as it is commonly called today.

In fact, it was Bollywood that was the identity of the Indian film industry in the West thanks to the much-loved mega-blockbusters featuring the likes of Amitabh Bachchan & Shah Rukh Khan.

However, in 2015, things began to change.

And the catalyst behind the changing scenario was Telugu filmmaker SS Rajamouli & his film Baahubali: The Beginning which was followed by its sequel the record-breaking blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017).

Soon, the Kannada film industry followed suit with the likes of KGF: Chapter 1 (2018) & its sequel, the monster hit that is KGF: Chapter 2 (2022).
