The news of ‘K.G.F’ director Prashanth Neel and Telugu superstar Prabhas collaborating has set the internet on fire. There has been a tremendous buzz all around the country – including the northern parts – regarding the film, its first look, and a number of other related things. Hombale Films, a homegrown entity of Kannada cinema, made this grand announcement a couple of days ago.

While the response to the announcement has been fairly positive, the developments on social media over the last 24 hours suggest something different now. Many patrons of the Kannada Film Industry have hit back at the makers for choosing to work with an outsider (Prabhas) and questioned their intent in this regard. The same fans have claimed that both Prashanth Neel and Vijay Kiragandur (of Hombale Films) are being opportunists who have overlooked their own pool of talent for the sake of monetary success.
